Prof. Gang Zheng, Chair Professor at School of Civil Engineering. He served as the Vice President of Tianjin University since 2021. He was granted the Changjiang Scholar award by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2014. Dr. Zheng’s research and practical experiences have focused on deformation control of geotechnical engineering. In recent years, his research mainly focused on the system performance of geotechnical engineering and underground engineering. Dr. Zheng is the Chair of Technical Committee 219, ISSMGE, namely "System Performance of Geotechnical Structures". He is the recipient of 2013 R.M. Quigley Award granted by the Canadian Geotechnical Society. He has received the first and second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award for one time, respectively, and the first prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Ministry of Education for one time, and the first prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Tianjin Municipal Government for 5 times.
